Taxibot 2 tele-porting a fare.

Going On-Duty Written by Taxibot X, edited by Taxibot 2
A Taxibot's bread and butter is Teleporting heroes out of hazardous areas to safety. "Helping Heroes Get There Faster" is our motto, and we mean it. :-) Some of us have Superspeed (to zip around the map), others have Kinetics (to make others zippy), but all of us have Recall Friend (to zip other heroes to us).

Setting up shop:
Stop! Don't take another step until you go into your options area to enable the prompt for team teleport. There are some villians masquerading as heroes in this city and they would love the chance to teleport you away from your nice, safe station into a gaping lion's mouth. No feeding the lions, please.

When going on-duty in a zone, first check on the SG channel to see if anyone is already covering the area you want to service. If there is already a Taxibot (or some other helpful hero) at the station you choose, you can move on to a different post or make arrangements to take over once the other person is ready to be relieved.

Where are some good places to station yourselves?
-> Inside the Hollows at the Atlas Park Gate
-> Inside Perez Park at any of the gates
-> In Steel Canyon at the Yellow Line, Green Line, Icon Store, or Dance Party

Once you've established your post, send out an advertisement to the Broadcast channel, notifying the zone of your services. Macros really come in handy for this part of the gig.

Passing the time between fares:
After you've sent out a broadcast, sit back, relax, and wait for the responses. It's like fishing. Sometimes you'll get a bite immediately. More often than not, you'll be waiting for a while. Don't give up! Your services are wanted and needed. You just may need to re-broadcast a few times. Whatever you do, however, do not broadcast more frequently than once every 5 minutes. 5-10 minutes is fine.

Also, being a buffer, I'll often spend time targeting heroes who run by me to hit them with a couple of buffs. Sometimes you'll get a player who doesn't like being randomly hit with an unsolicited buff, but, more often than not, people appreciate it.

Someone needs a TP!(TP means tele-port, by the way)
When you get an interested fare, you will most usually be sent a /tell asking for a tp. Invite the person to team. Sometimes they are already on a team. When this happens, ask for an invite to the team.

Other times you may get invited to a team right off the bat. Join the team. If there's more than one person on the team, find out who needs a 'port. Maybe it's the leader (who invited you), maybe it's a fallen comrade, maybe it's all of them. Who knows? Ask before you start TPing though. Not everyone may want a TP.

The actual action of Recalling a Friend:
I find that creating a macro to warn people of an incoming TP is useful. Not only does it let them know they're about to be 'ported, but it lets their teammates know who you plan on 'porting as well.

Once you have selected your target and activated Recall friend, you should have a "bullseye" TP prompt. Do not click on the prompt until you receive confirmation from your target (unless this is an absolute emergency).

Wrapping it up:
After you've pulled your fare through space to be by your side, he or she may offer to tip you. On the other hand, they may not. It's up to you whether you will accept tips or not (I usually don't if they're less than 10th level). Either way, a Taxibot should never ask for or demand a tip. Once you're done, don't linger, quit the team.

Lather, rinse, repeat.
